Our recycling depot operates each day thanks to the dedication of our parents and the encouragement of our educators.

Staff, parents, learners and local residents bring recyclable items to the double garage alongside the swimming pool. The entrance is in Alphen Way. Monitors and volunteers sort the material and the Recycling Team organises for it to be collected by various contractors.

Once a term we have a recycling competition. Classes compete to bring in the biggest total of either glass, paper or tin. The top two classes are rewarded in various ways and the winning class receives the Recycling Shield.

One Recycling Monitor from each class must meet daily at the Recycling Depot between 08:00 and 08:15. They are encouraged to learn what products are recyclable and how each type is disposed of. They must assist with disposing the recycling correctly, stowing bottles in the lock-up garage and emptying cans into the sacks provided, flattening cardboard, posting newspaper into the orange igloos and helping to keep the perimeter tidy.
